Mechanical - New Mains cold water has been installed direct from the town mains which serves the building. Additionally the mains cold water pipework serves a number of point of use electric water heaters throughout the building which provide the buildings hot water supply.
The main form of heating within the building is 2 No. LPHW circuits which serve 1 No. VT circuit and 1 No. CT circuit.
The VT circuit distributes throughout the building within the ceiling void to serve various steel panel radiators within the building. The CT circuit distributes throughout the building within the ceiling void to serve the fan convectors within the appliance bay. New isolation valves have been installed within the ceiling void in order to aid any future maintenance works.
The heating is served via 4 No external air to water electric heat pumps, these are installed externally within a secure fenced compound. The units are connected in parallel via a low loss header, and are complete with separate shunt pumps for each heat pump.
The Multifunction room ventilation is served via the newly installed heat recovery unit. Various extract systems have also been installed to satisfy the requirements of the latest building regulations.
The toilets are served via a mix of inline extract fans, which distribute from the external louvers to the extract valves within each WC / Cubicle.
Additional extract systems have been installed to serve other rooms.
All ducts have been installed with fire dampers where passing through fire walls, all fire dampers have been installed with the required access doors for re-setting should this be required.
Wall mounted air conditioning cassette has been installed within the coms room to aid the cooling of the room and protect from over heating.
This has a local wall mounted remote controller.
The unit is fed from an external condenser that is floor mounted to the front of the building.
Electrical - This project consisted of the fit out of a newly built fire station and associated community/admin areas.
A distribution system has been installed with a UPS for essential services and a generator hook up should the power supply be interrupted for a longer period.
Lighting & emergency lighting of various HF & LED types have been installed suitable for the individual areas with different control philofocies; ie manual, presence detection and absence detection.
New small power has been installed feeding general equipment, charging points, roller shutter doors, compressors, external vehicle charging points and mechanical services.
An addressable fire alarm system has been installed covering all areas with the use of, heat & optical detectors, manual call points and plant shut down.
Access control has been installed controlling external and internal doors with various different protocols.
A complete data and voice network has been installed.
A call out systems has been installed which turns on communal area lighting & strobe lights, the system also shuts down cooking equipment.
