Mechanical - The scheme consisted of the removal of 4 No existing cold water storage tanks, two in the basement and the other two on H deck of the wing. Two new 50,000L tanks were installed in place of the existing ones within the basement. A new header arrangement was installed on the domestics around the perimeter of the tanks, this then fed the existing cold water booster. The incoming mains water had to be modified to suit the new arrangements. On completion the tanks were chemically cleaned and flushed in line with the specification. The same process was replicated on H deck, with 2 No 21,000L cold water tanks. Certification was finally produced to the client on completion of the works which allowed the newly treated water to be released into the system.
